Just a Few More Christmas Decorating Ideas
I doubt I am the only one that goes a little crazy decorating at Christmas. My basement storage room is mostly decorations for every holiday and season, but Christmas decorations occupy the most space. Although I do have some sentimental items that I used every year -- I tend to mix it up on how I use them. I think I get this from my mom. She loved to change things up -- and maybe it's because we has 12 kids in our family and we broke nearly everything good -- consequently we had more than our share of Charlie Brown Christmas trees. What I learned from my mom is to use what you have in different ways and that decorations don't have to cost you a fortune to make your space special for the holidays. Here are a few ideas from past years. Colorful Napkins and plates are inexpensive and add to your theme. Oranges or other fruit in a striped bowl I also use all summer. And a pie is a nice touch! I'm a big fan of using colorful straws and a Mason jar for my drink table set up. Mason jars, a couple of dollar boxes of blue candy canes, some ribbon, dollar store blue stones and blue tulle create a festive look to this table. Fun tradition at our house is English Christmas crackers -- I use them to add color to my table and we get a big kick out of opening them before dinner. We even wear the crowns! Another inexpensive idea for your table is to add some bows that match your colors.
